Child Protection Services: What you need to know (Part One)
The thought of a knock on the door is a scary prospect for most homeschooling families. Rumours fly in homeschool circles about the role of Child Protection Services, often with misinformation and negative expectations attached.
HSLDA is very familiar with all of the various Child and Family Services in each province, and has navigated interactions between social workers and homeschool families on many occasions.
This video update featuring HSLDA Legal Counsel Lisa McManus and Member Services director Kerry Mullenix is helpful, encouraging, informative, and optimistic based on their years of experience in working with social workers and homeschooling families.
Watch the video and be encouraged and informed. (And stay tuned for Part Two of this helpful video series!)
