Following up from the previous vlog, Paul Faris, President of HSLDA Canada, sits down with Bonnie Getty, our Marketing and Communications expert, to discuss the potentially overwhelming task of choosing curriculum.

Bonnie spent many years working alongside curriculum vendors at homeschool conferences, and therefore has a wealth of knowledge and experience in directing homeschooling families through the choices before them. Instead of letting parents feel overwhelmed by all the options in the vendor hall, Bonnie asks a few questions to help parents filter through and find the right curriculum for their specific family.

Paul Faris adds some reassuring facts on this point: he says that the research shows there is not only one ‘right’ curriculum. Watch the video and listen to what Paul says about learning styles and curriculum choices and their relation to academic success. Be encouraged!

If you are brand new to homeschooling, this video will be a great beginning point for you as you discern which homeschool resources you ought to invest in. If you are a seasoned homeschooler, would you please add your comments below as an encouragement to the other readers. How do you choose your curriculum? What factors do you consider as you shop at the vendor hall? Let’s share our insight, questions, and encouragements in the comments section.

And in the meantime, enjoy this week’s vlog! We trust it will be a help to you. See you next time!
