Fostering and Adopting, Part Two
Before you take the plunge and begin the process of approval for fostering and adopting, you ought to also consider the implications of fostering and adopting on your home life and homeschool. There are certainly great benefits to fostering and adopting, and there are positive impacts on your homeschool. However, there are other considerations too. What happens if you let your home be opened to the close scrutiny of Child Protection Services? What impact will the addition of more children have on your current children? Have you taken their thoughts on the matter into your decision-making process?
Lisa McManus and Kerry Mullenix discuss some of the questions you should be asking about how fostering and adopting might impact your family and your homeschool. Listen in and learn from their experience.
As you can see, there are many positive outcomes from fostering and adopting, not only for the children being welcomed into your home, but also for your family as a whole. HSLDA has much experience in walking with families through the process, and in providing helpful resources as you make the transition.
Again, we would love to hear your fostering and adopting stories or questions in the comments. HSLDA partners with you to ensure success not only in homeschooling, but in family life as well.
