Homeschooling benefits parents. Really!
Hi, everyone! Thanks for joining us. This week I share on a topic that is close to my heart. I think this is a really important factor in ensuring that the homeschooling movement has the momentum to grow and flourish.
There is a myth that exists that says homeschooling is great for our children, but is a chore and burden for us parents. It states that we have to give up our lives and our comfort in order to homeschool.
No doubt, homeschooling is hard work, and making the commitment involves sacrifice. However, I believe the benefits to parents far outweigh the challenges.
I have seen this myth hinder interested parents from beginning to homeschool. I have seen this myth keep current homeschool families from continuing. And sadly, I have seen this myth limit the blessing to the parents and the best education to the children.
Homeschooling is good for parents! In this week’s video I share only three of the many ways that homeschooling benefits parents, and families as a whole.
This week I’d love to hear from you in the comments. How have you, as a parent, benefited from homeschooling? How have the sacrifices you’ve made paled in the light of the blessings of homeschooling? Let’s encourage one another in this journey in the comments below.
