Homeschooling with Special Needs
This week’s video update is a special coffee meeting between Bonnie Getty and Barbara Postma. The two homeschool moms sat down for a chat about their experiences in homeschooling struggling learners and students with special needs.
Bonnie is a recently ‘retired’ homeschooling mom and Barbara is still in the middle of the journey. Together, they discuss the benefits of homeschooling in these special circumstances, setting goals, rethinking curricula, and, most importantly, encouraging moms like you to know that you are not alone.
Both Barbara and Bonnie have a real heart for moms who are homeschooling kids with special needs. HSLDA is here to support you as you navigate the ups and downs of this unique path. Our member site has many articles and resources to help you as you consider, begin, or continue homeschooling struggling learners and kids with special needs.
It is an honour for us to walk this road with you. We know that there are many at-home experts reading this right now. Let’s encourage one another in the comments with our experiences and be willing ask and answer questions. Do you know a mom who has a child with special needs? Share this video with them so that they can be encouraged and find the help they need. It is good to know that we are not alone!
