As a member of HSLDA, you are covered with liability insurance that covers both property damage and bodily injury to others that may occur as a result of your actions at homeschool events. Both general and sporting activities are included in your coverage. Owners of facilities will be pleased to open their doors to you as an HSLDA member knowing that you are personally covered and have taken the steps necessary to be fully responsible for the actions of your family.
As a member of HSLDA, you also have coverage for your group if you are the organizer of an event. The facility owner will be put at ease with the knowledge that you, as an HSLDA member, have insurance that covers your event. As the group or event organizer, you will be protected from lawsuit should another attendee have a complaint to make against you or against the event. Any HSLDA member who attends your event will have the same coverage and benefit. However, a non-HSLDA attendee will not be covered.
HSLDA has recently had the privilege of helping a homeschool group acquire the permission to rent a gym that was previously closed to them. When the owners received proof of insurance through the forms HSLDA provided, they allowed the homeschool group access to their facility without incident. (Read the story here).
