What do homeschool moms really need?
Written & submitted by: The Old Schoolhouse®
Everyone needs a friend. When you know that there is someone out there pulling for you, the clouds look less troubling, don’t they?
Homeschool moms need that friend even more. Especially when there is laundry, dishes, feeding, clothing, and cleaning. Oh, then add in the challenging task of educating our children. Some days we don’t even have a chance to breathe. But, here’s what we do get: watching the splendor of a child learning to read, then to love learning, and eventually, graduation. Perhaps college is next as they have become strong adults who love to learn. All the work becomes worth it.
When you feel overwhelmed, it is nice to have a like-minded friend.
There is a group comprised of homeschooling moms like you who all contribute just a bit of time and a lot of prayer, and the result is The Old Schoolhouse®. Their goal is to strengthen you for this home education journey.
The TOS magazine is designed to give you practical help and inspiration for the journey.
The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine is the premier family home education magazine. Packed with articles by industry experts, your favorite speakers, and curriculum reviews. Our gorgeous print magazines are available in digital format, and you can download the free app, too!
Occasionally, there is a trend that we want to share with you, and we publish a special supplement. The most recent is filled with experts in Charlotte Mason and Classical Education methods as well as articles by homeschooling moms who share a typical day in their homeschool.
Affordable, Christian Curriculum
It’s challenging to find courses for all of our children’s needs that also fit our worldview. SchoolhouseTeachers.com was created to meet that need. The curriculum arm of The Old Schoolhouse® offers hundreds of teachers and courses to fit every kind of learning style. The dedicated staff members can also help you in the comfort of your own home. We have a scope and sequence section, too! Need advice? Make use of the live chat! We’d love to help.
While the homeschooling moms of The Old Schoolhouse® come together to offer help, the rock upon which all of this is built is the inspiration and heart of Gena Suarez. She started The Old Schoolhouse® in 2001, back when homeschooling was truly difficult and homeschooling families were few and far between.
Everything we do at The Old Schoolhouse® is part of an overall ministry to provide that friend who will walk with you on this homeschooling path that God has called you to embrace.
Be encouraged, and please do come and get to know all we have to offer. We know exactly what you are going through. We understand, we have been there, and we want to encourage you as you keep them Home Where They Belong.
